RN – MICU | Travel Contract

Location: Columbus, OH – Ohio State University
Specialty: Medical ICU (MICU)
Shift: Nights, 3×12 hrs | 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Contract: 13 weeks
Start Date: 10/05/2026
Experience: 2+ years required
Charting: Epic
Patient Ratio: 2:1
First-time Travelers: Not accepted

Requirements

2+ years of current acute-care MICU experience
BLS, ACLS & NIHSS required
Valid Ohio or Compact RN license required at submission
Travel experience required
Strong experience with ventilated and critically ill patients

Clinical Skills

Ventilator management
Vasoactive & cardiac drips
Arterial & central line management
CRRT
BiPAP/CPAP & HFNC
Dysrhythmia interpretation/management
IV starts and medication titration
ABG interpretation
Blood product administration
Multisystem organ failure management

Unit Details

24-bed MICU
Adult & geriatric patients
Approx. 23 daily census
Common cases: sepsis, ARDS, COPD, pneumonia, oncologic emergencies, GI bleeds, pulmonary hypertension, neuromuscular disorders
Equipment includes NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV pumps and GE monitors
Orientation: 72 hours
Weekend shifts vary based on unit needs
No call requirement
