Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)
 

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Nights)
Contract: Rapid Response – 6 Weeks
Hours: 48 hours/week
 

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to laboring and high-risk OB patients.
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and perform intermediate fetal monitoring.
• Manage magnesium and insulin drips.
• Provide care for high-risk and high-acuity obstetric patients.
• Perform circulating and scrubbing duties as required.
• Collaborate with physicians, CNCs, CSTs, and other members of the care team.
• Maintain accurate documentation using CPN/Meditech EMR.
• Float within Women's Services, including Postpartum and Antepartum, as needed.
• Maintain a safe, efficient, and patient-focused clinical environment.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license.
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience.
• Strong Labor & Delivery experience, preferably in a high-risk/high-volume setting.
• Experience with intermediate fetal monitoring.
• Experience caring for high-risk OB patients.
• Must be comfortable with magnesium and insulin drips.
• Strong teamwork and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP – Intermediate
• AWHONN

Preferred Experience

• OBED experience.
• High-risk OB experience.
• High-volume Labor & Delivery experience.
• Circulating and scrubbing experience.

Unit Information

• Unit: Labor & Delivery / OBED
• Beds: 23
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 2:1
• Night Staffing: 1 CNC, 4–6 RNs, 1 CST, 1 Secretary
• Floating: Postpartum / Antepartum
• On-Call: 1 shift every 4 weeks

Assignment Requirements

• Rapid Response assignment – 6 weeks
• 48 hours/week
• Start required within 5–7 days of offer
• No RTO permitted
• No special scheduling requests
