Overview

Join our dedicated mental health team at this Correctional Facility as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). In this role, you’ll provide comprehensive clinical social work services to incarcerated individuals, supporting their mental health, emotional well-being, rehabilitation, and successful reintegration into the community. You’ll utilize evidence-based clinical interventions, psychosocial assessment, care coordination, and therapeutic approaches to address complex behavioral health needs within a secure correctional environment. Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based clinical interventions and modalities appropriate to the correctional setting.
• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify mental health needs, psychosocial stressors, behavioral concerns, strengths, and barriers to treatment and successful reintegration.
• Develop, implement, and regularly evaluate individualized treatment plans addressing clinical needs, behavioral goals, rehabilitation objectives, and continuity-of-care needs.
• Provide therapeutic interventions focused on emotional regulation, coping skills, trauma recovery, stress management, communication, interpersonal relationships, and behavioral change.
• Provide clinical case management and coordinate appropriate mental health, medical, social, and community-based resources to support continuity of care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams—including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, medical providers, and custody staff—to coordinate holistic, person-centered care.
• Participate actively in Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT) meetings and contribute to case formulation, clinical recommendations, treatment planning, risk assessment, and crisis intervention strategies.
• Monitor and assess clients’ clinical progress, functioning, treatment engagement, and response to interventions, modifying treatment plans as clinically indicated.
• Provide crisis intervention, suicide/self-harm risk assessment, safety planning, and stabilization services in accordance with facility procedures and clinical standards.
• Document clinical assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, risk assessments, case management activities, and discharge summaries accurately and in accordance with facility requirements and California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) standards.
• Support incarcerated individuals with transition and pre-release planning by addressing barriers to successful community reintegration, including housing, behavioral health services, medication continuity, social support, employment readiness, and community resources.
• Assist in developing relapse-prevention, coping, and community reentry strategies designed to promote long-term stability and reduce the risk of recidivism.
• Advocate for clients’ clinical and psychosocial needs while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries within the correctional environment.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and professional ethics while adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, facility procedures, CDCR policies, and clinical standards.
• Maintain awareness of safety and security requirements and work collaboratively with custody and institutional staff to ensure a safe therapeutic environment.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences, quality improvement activities, and other clinical programs or initiatives designed to improve behavioral health outcomes.
