🚨 Biggest Candidate Requirements

This is not a basic Circulator-only OR position. The candidate needs:

  • 2+ years recent OR RN experience
  • Pediatric OR experience — REQUIRED
  • Must be able to SCRUB and CIRCULATE
  • Robotic experience
  • GYN experience
  • Eye/ophthalmology experience
  • Plastic surgery experience
  • Comfortable taking evening/night charge
  • Active Hawaii RN license
  • AHA BLS
  • AHA ACLS
  • AHA PALS

👩‍⚕️ Charge Responsibilities

The traveler can be expected to take evening/night charge, including:

  • Cleaning and restocking OR
  • Preparing for the next day's cases
  • Scheduling urgent/emergent cases
  • Reporting off during the morning huddle

So I'd consider charge experience a very important screening item, even though the posting doesn't explicitly say "previous charge experience required."

📞 Call Requirement

This is probably the biggest lifestyle consideration.

Travelers can sign up for preferred call schedules, but the department can assign call based on need.

Call is approximately 2–3 times per week, generally 6–8 hour call blocks.

So I would make sure a nurse understands this before submitting. It's substantially different from a typical 5×8 OR contract where call is occasional.

A Recruiter Who Works For You My name is Sean, and I’m a U.S.-based travel nurse recruiter here in Denver, Colorado. I’ve been recruiting nurses for 10+ years, and one thing I’ve always believed in is that communication, transparency, and honesty are what make a great recruiter-nurse relationship. One thing I want nurses to know about Vivian: when you apply to jobs, you may be giving recruiters consent to submit you—even if you never actually speak with them. That’s not how I work. I will never submit one of my nurses without written or verbal consent. If you apply to one of my jobs, I want to make sure you know: • Where you are being submitted • The pay breakdown • The complete job details • What the facility is like, when I have previous experience or knowledge of it • What to expect during the interview process My job isn’t just to submit you and hope for the best. My job is to work for you, make sure you’re prepared, and help you land the right assignment. I’ll always give you the good, the bad, and the ugly about a job when I know it. I’d rather be upfront with you than tell you what you want to hear just to get a submission. If you’re looking for a recruiter who values communication, transparency, honesty, and actually picking up the phone, I’d love the opportunity to work with you. Feel free to apply to any of my jobs and send me a message. If you have questions about a position or don’t have a complete profile yet, just reach out. I’m happy to help. Also, if you have specific states or areas you’re targeting, let me know. I recruit nationwide and can help you find opportunities that fit what you’re looking for. 10+ years recruiting. One goal: Get my nurses the right job. 🇺🇸🩺
