Position Overview

KTI Health is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse – Operating Room for a 13-week assignment at a major cancer hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

This is a Day/Evening Rotating OR position requiring a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week. The schedule may include a combination of 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts based on unit needs. The ideal candidate should have strong Operating Room experience, oncology experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment.
 

Schedule

Day/Evening Rotating

Possible shift windows include:

• 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• 10:30 AM – 8:30 PM

The 40-hour weekly commitment may be scheduled as:

• Four 10-hour shifts
• Five 8-hour shifts
• Two 8-hour shifts + two 12-hour shifts

Important: The schedule is rotating and 4x10s are not guaranteed. The actual schedule will vary according to unit needs.
 

Call & Weekend Requirements

• Call may be required as needed.
• Weekend availability may be required.
• Staff typically sign up for a 2–3/4-week schedule period.
• Depending on the assigned shift, call may include:
  • Evening: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • Night: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Weekend Day: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Weekend Night: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Operating Room experience
• Oncology experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• BCLS/BLS certification required
• EPIC experience required
• Ability to work rotating day/evening schedules
• Ability to participate in call and weekend coverage as needed

Preferred OR Experience

Experience in multiple surgical specialties is highly valued, including:

• Neuro
• Thoracic
• ENT
• Orthopedics
• General Surgery
• Plastics
• Urology
• GU/GYN
• Free Flaps
• Robotic Surgery / Da Vinci

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to surgical patients throughout the perioperative process.
• Assist with circulating and scrubbing duties as needed.
• Prepare and monitor patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Maintain a safe and sterile operating environment.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes during procedures.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC.
• Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and hospital policies.
• Support surgical procedures across various specialties according to unit needs.
• Participate in required call and weekend coverage.

Compensation

💰 Pay Rate: $66/hour
