Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Med Surg / Tele (Unit: Medical North 4)

Location: Middlesex Health Care Center, Middletown, Connecticut (100 Randolph Rd)

Compensation & Schedule Details
- Hours & Shift: 48 hours per week (12-hour Nights, 1900–0730; note that un-paid lunch breaks apply, and overtime kicks in after 48 hours).
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Target Start Date: September 4, 2026 (or ASAP per onboarding)
- Scheduling: Every other weekend (EOW) is mandatory—travelers must work the full weekend (cannot exclude Sundays). Blocked schedules are NOT allowed. No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the start date (keep RTO minimal overall).
Key Facility Policies & Compliance Mandates
- Radius & Local Policy: Strict 50-mile radius rule. Local travelers are NOT allowed. Candidates cannot be working another job while applying for this assignment.
- Experience Requirement: No first-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience and Epic charting experience are strictly required).
- Dress Code: Caribbean blue scrubs, or black pants with a Caribbean blue top. Black or white under-shirts permitted.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Tele experience required. General medical patient population.
- Licensure: Active Connecticut (CT) RN license or compact state license.
- Certifications: AHA BLS required. Night shift patient ratios are typically 1:7–8, supported by nurse aides (1:8) and 24/7 hospitalists, pharmacy, and nurse resource teams.

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
