Job Summary

The Mammography Technologist will perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography examinations for adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients while maintaining compliance with ACR, MQSA, New Jersey State, and FDA standards. The technologist will also assist with stereotactic breast biopsies, breast needle localization, breast ultrasound procedures, and other breast-imaging procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms accurately and efficiently while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
• Assist with stereotactic breast biopsies, breast needle localization, breast ultrasound, and other image-guided breast procedures.
• Select appropriate technical factors, positioning, compression, and immobilization techniques based on individual patient needs.
• Accurately identify and document patient images, procedures, requisitions, and pertinent clinical information.
• Perform and document quality control and quality assurance activities, including phantom testing, compression testing, repeat analysis, equipment checks, and processor quality control.
• Provide patient education, including breast self-examination (BSE) instructions and pre-/post-procedure guidance.
• Maintain compliance with ACR, MQSA, NJ State, and FDA mammography requirements.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to support safe and effective breast-imaging services.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and patient-care skills while adapting communication to patients' age, culture, language, and individual needs.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned while following organizational standards and policies.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Mammography experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience performing screening and diagnostic mammograms.
• Experience with stereotactic breast biopsy required.
• Strong interpersonal and patient-care skills.
• EPIC experience is a plus.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Licenses & Certifications

• ARRT – Mammography
• Active New Jersey State Diagnostic Radiography License
• CPR
• BLS

Preferred Experience

• Experience with stereotactic breast biopsy
• Experience with bone density
• Experience assisting with breast ultrasound and breast localization procedures
• EPIC experience
