Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Compensation & Schedule Details
- Hours & Shift: 36 hours per week (12-hour Nights, 1845–0715)
- Contract Length: Travel contract
Target Start Date: September 13, 2026 (or ASAP)
- Scheduling & On-Call: Every other weekend required; holidays in rotation. Requires 2–3 on-call shifts per month.
- Low Census Policy: 8 hours of unbillable low census allowed. Facility can cancel up to 2 shifts per month with at least 2 hours' notice (if asked to remain available during low census, time at home is paid at the on-call rate; call-backs paid at the call-back rate).
Key Facility Policies & Floating Rules
- Floating & Pediatric Care: Must be willing to float to Med-Surg as needed for overflow patients and take care of pediatric patients.
- Facility Policies: 100% nicotine-free facility. Bi-weekly pay structure. Orientation starts on a Monday virtually (credentials due 1 week prior).
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of LDR experience required (3+ years in a rural hospital preferred; prior travel experience and Epic charting strongly preferred).
- Licensure: Active Kansas RN license.
- Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, and proof of a fetal monitoring class (intermediate or advanced) taken within the past 24 months. Must be fully committed to obtaining PALS prior to start.

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
