Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical (Med Surg)

Location: Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence, Kansas (325 Maine St)

Compensation & Schedule Details
- Hours & Shift: 36 guaranteed hours per week (12-hour Nights, 1900–0730; no set schedule).
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Target Start Date: September 20, 2026 (HR orientations occur on Mondays during the day).
- Scheduling: Weekend requirement based on unit needs; expectation to assist with holidays.
Key Facility Policies & Floating Rules
- Floating: Required to float across units as needed.
- Onboarding: Credentials due the Wednesday prior to start. Payroll managed via the Mobilize App.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1+ year of recent acute care Med-Surg experience required (step-down experience preferred; new graduates are not accepted).
- Licensure & Certifications: Active Kansas (KS) RN license and AHA BLS both required in hand at time of submittal.

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
