Medical Laboratory Scientist

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support a leading healthcare organization's medical facility in Royal Oak, MI 48073.

This is a 13+ week contract opportunity with the potential for extension—an excellent opportunity to gain experience with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Job Details

Location: Royal Oak, MI 48073
Contract: 13+ weeks with possible extension
Schedule: 40 hours per week

Available Shifts:

• Day Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• Night Shift: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM

Both day and night shifts are available.

Pay Range: $2,200–$2,400 per week

(The final pay rate will be based on the candidate's education, healthcare credentials, and years of relevant direct experience.)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Follow established laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, testing, result reporting, and record maintenance.
• Perform laboratory testing according to approved procedures and accurately review and release test results.
• Report STAT and critical results in accordance with departmental guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, laboratory safety, and other regulatory requirements.
• Perform and document quality control activities, instrument calibrations, maintenance, and corrective actions.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues affecting test performance and escalate concerns when necessary.
• Maintain accurate testing records and ensure proper labeling and dating of reagents and test kits.
• Support department operations, regulatory inspections, training, safety initiatives, and other duties as assigned.

Education & Certification

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology preferred; alternatively, a degree in Chemistry, Biology, Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology may be accepted based on applicable qualifications.
• Candidates must meet the requirements for Technologist qualification under 42 CFR 493.1433, where applicable.
• Must possess or be eligible for national MT/MLT certification through a recognized organization such as ASCP or AMT.

Experience & Special Requirements

• 1 year of clinical laboratory experience with high-complexity testing is preferred.
• A minimum of 1 year of high-complexity clinical laboratory experience is required for candidates with a BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology.
• National and state licensure must be maintained as required.
