Description

RN- CVICU

REQUIRED LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS
===================================
• License: Active NJ or Compact license required at time of submission

• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & CLINICAL SKILLS
=====================================
• Experience Required: 2 years of recent CVICU experience. SICU experience may be considered if initial training in a CVICU was completed.

• For Consideration: Applicants MUST have experience with fresh post-op cardiac cases, including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR. Must also have experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax.

• IV Therapy/Medications: A-lines; Administer Blood Products; Central/PICC lines; Starting IVs; Continuous IV paralytics/Neuromuscular blockade and sedation; Emergency Meds; Procedural Sedation Admin/monitoring; Titrate Cardiac/Vasoactive drips; IV insulin protocols

• Respiratory/Thoracic: Chest Tube Insertion/Removal; BiPAP/CPAP; Vented Patient Care; HFNC; ABGs; Suctioning (ETT, NT); Ventilator Management

• Cardiovascular: CABG; Cardiac Surgery (directly/not directly from the OR); TAVR; Valve Repair/Replacement; Post-Op Open Heart Recovery; Temporary Pacers; FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring; Interpret Dysrhythmias; 12-lead EKG

• Renal/Neurological: Chronic/Acute Renal failure; CVVHD/CRRT; CVA/Acute Stroke; Hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun; Lumbar drains

• General Skills: Multisystem organ dysfunction/failure; Infection Prevention; Isolation Precautions/PPE; Phlebotomy.


SCHEDULING DETAILS AND CHARTING

• Charting: EPIC experience required

• Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend

• Holiday Requirement: Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays, per unit needs.

• Locals Accepted: Yes, Locals accepted 


UNIT DETAILS AND FLOATING

• Ratios: 1:1:2+

• Scrubs: Navy Blue

• Floating: Candidates must float within their skillset without exception. Ratios vary based on census, patient acuity and staffing. Will float to all ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds and Cardiac IMC units
