Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (ER RN)

Compensation & Schedule Details
- Hours & Shift: 36 hours per week (12-hour Nights).
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Target Start Date: October 26, 2026
Key Facility Policies & Unit Scope
- Department Overview: 12-bed emergency department (including 2 trauma/cardiac bays and 1 dedicated psych/safe room) averaging ~50 patients/day. Non-trauma, non-STEMI, non-stroke receiving center (neuro and traumas transfer out to Omaha facilities).
- Patient Ratios & Support: Nurse-to-patient ratios typically no more than 1:4. Dedicated CNAs and House Supervisors available; 24/7 Respiratory Therapy handles ABGs, vents, and breathing treatments.
- Triage & Floating: Triage is primarily handled by core staff, though experienced travelers may occasionally take triage with permission.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum recent emergency room experience required (Cerner EMR experience preferred). Comfortable managing critical care drips (vasoactive, sedation, etc.) and drawing lab work.
- Licensure: Active Nebraska (NE) RN license or compact state license.
- Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required.

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
