Description
RN – Mother Baby / Postpartum
Specialty: Mother-Baby / Postpartum
Shift: 12H Nights | 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hrs/week
Contract: 13 weeks
Requirements
- 2+ years RN experience
- 1+ year Mother-Baby/Postpartum experience
- BLS & NRP required
- EFM preferred
- First-time travelers accepted
- EPIC experience preferred
Clinical Skills
- Care for 3–4 postpartum couplets
- Newborn care & assessments
- Breastfeeding assistance
- Hypoglycemia, bilirubin & NAS care
- Newborn vitals & thermoregulation
- PKU testing
- IV & phlebotomy skills preferred
- Fundal checks
- Discharge teaching
- Neonatal vaccinations
Unit Details
- 23-bed unit
- Patient ratio: 1:3–4
- Patients: Postpartum & low-risk Antepartum
- 24/7 OB, Hospitalist, Anesthesia & RT
- Lactation support available
- EPIC | Alaris | Pyxis
- Free designated parking
Scheduling
- Every other or every third weekend
- No call
- Holidays: At least 1 winter + 1 summer holiday
- RTO up to 7 days
- Floating to LD/NICU may be required
- 3 orientation shifts with preceptors
Key Requirement: Strong Mother-Baby/Postpartum experience with the ability to independently care for 3–4 couplets and provide comprehensive mother & newborn care.
