🫀 What You’ll Be Doing

As a Cardiovascular Sonographer, you’ll play an important role in obtaining high-quality diagnostic cardiac imaging and supporting physicians in the evaluation of cardiovascular conditions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing a variety of ultrasound procedures using high-frequency sound waves to evaluate internal organs and vessels.
  • Performing adult transthoracic echocardiography.
  • Preparing examination rooms and equipment.
  • Obtaining informed consent and accurate clinical histories as needed.
  • Reviewing patient histories and selecting the appropriate imaging protocols.
  • Explaining examinations to patients and positioning them appropriately.
  • Assessing patient status and responding appropriately to patient needs.
  • Performing required diagnostic techniques and tests.
  • Reviewing completed studies for quality, completeness, and appropriate exam type.
  • Ensuring high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Preparing images, examinations, and supporting documentation for physician review.
  • Thoroughly documenting and communicating patient information.
  • Providing clear patient communication and supporting a safe, comfortable experience.
  • Coordinating effectively with nurses and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Completing safe and effective shift handoffs.
  • Monitoring equipment reliability and safety and reporting service or repair needs.
  • Maintaining clean, organized examination rooms and equipment.
  • Managing and stocking supplies.
  • Transporting patients as needed.
  • Participating in quality, patient-care, workflow, and patient-satisfaction initiatives.
