Certified Surgical Technologist – Labor & Delivery / OB Scrub Tech (Direct Hire)

Location: White Plains, NY

Employment Type: Direct Hire / Permanent (Full-Time, 37.5 hrs/week)

Pay Rate: $37.60 – $56.40 / hour (DOE)

Shift: 3x12.5-Hour Nights (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM | Mon–Fri with alternating weekends & holidays)

Position Overview

Acute care hospital in White Plains, NY is seeking an experienced OB Scrub Tech / Certified Surgical Technologist for a full-time, direct-hire night shift position in Labor & Delivery. Responsible for sterile field management, case preparation, surgical instrumentation, and intraoperative support for Cesarean sections and operative obstetric procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Scrub, set up, count instruments/sponges, and anticipate surgeon needs during C-sections and obstetric surgical interventions.
Maintain strict surgical asepsis and sterile technique throughout operative deliveries.
Assist the surgical team with case picking, room preparation, specimen handling, and cord gas collection/labeling.
Prepare surgical trays and instrumentation for post-procedure decontamination.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential administered by NBSTSA or a nationally accredited surgical tech organization
Graduate of a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited surgical technology program (or documented NYS grandfathered / military surgical tech qualification per NY Public Health Law § 2824)
Active AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Prior surgical tech experience in Labor & Delivery or main OR surgical suites preferred

Role & Employment Type: Direct Hire / Permanent (1 Open Position); full-time, 37.5 hours/week guaranteed. Pay Scale: $37.60 – $56.40/hour, determined by verified acute surgical tech experience. Shift Details: 12.5-hour night shifts (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM); schedule covers Monday–Friday with alternating weekends and rotating holiday commitments. Licensing & Compliance (NYS Public Health Law § 2824): Must be a graduate of an accredited CAAHEP/ABHES program and hold an active CST (NBSTSA) credential, or have documented military/grandfathered status in New York. Mandatory Certs: Active AHA BLS and CST.
