ICU RN — Important Points
- BLS certification required
- RN State License required
- ICU experience required
- Core Mandatory Nursing Exams: Part I, Part II & Part III
- ICU Skills competency required
- RN – ICU assessment/exam required
- RN Pharmacology A exam required
- Provides care to critically ill, medically complex, surgical, and trauma patients
- Closely monitors vital signs, including:
- Heart rate
- Blood pressure
- Respiratory status
- Recognizes and responds to signs of patient deterioration
- Provides direct critical-care nursing interventions
- Educates patients and their families
- Provides emotional support to patients and families
