Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience – Required
Labor & Delivery / LDRP experience – Required
Perinatal care experience
Post-Partum experience
Newborn assessment experience
BLS/BCLS – Required
ACLS – Required
NRP – Required
Intermediate Fetal Monitoring – Required
OPS Emergency Workshop – Required within 12 months
STABLE Certification – Required within 12 months
SAFER NM Technician Certification – Preferred
Active New Mexico RN License or Multi-State Compact (eNLC) License – Required
ADN – Required
BSN – Preferred
Ability and willingness to float to other departments as needed
Ability to care for patients across the lifespan
Strong critical-thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
Ability to work weekends and holidays as required

Responsibilities:
Provide nursing care to patients throughout Labor & Delivery, Recovery, and Post-Partum
Assist with labor support, delivery, recovery, and post-delivery patient care
Provide newborn assessments and perinatal nursing care
Monitor maternal, fetal, and newborn conditions and communicate changes to the care team
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
Provide patient and family education throughout the perinatal period
Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team
Maintain accurate patient documentation in Cerner EMR
Maintain sterile technique and sterile fields as required
Supervise and direct ancillary nursing personnel as appropriate
Float to other departments based on facility needs and appropriate orientation
Maintain patient safety, infection prevention, and hospital policies
Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Provide holiday and weekend coverage as required
