Description
Title: Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Trauma (Trauma, Neuro & Ortho)
Location: Topeka, KS
Duration: 26 weeks
Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 12-hour shifts | 36 hrs/week guaranteed
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of acute-care Medical/Surgical experience
- ADN or BSN required
- AHA BLS required
- KS or Multistate RN license
- MS SCL must be attached
- No first-time travelers
- Epic experience required (test-out option available)
- CPI and NIHSS are a bonus
- Every other weekend rotation
- Must be willing to float to other Med/Surg and post-surgical floors
- Staffing ratio: 1:6
- Navy scrubs
- Candidates with primarily Psych/BH experience must be comfortable working in a unit that is primarily Medical/Surgical
Description:
- 31-bed Neuro & Behavioral Health unit
- Primarily a Medical/Surgical unit; behavioral health experience is not required
- Cares for acute and subacute stroke, TIA, acute neurological illnesses, and general medical conditions
- Also provides care for medically unstable psychiatric patients, suicidal patients, and alcohol detox
- Nurses provide safe, patient-centered care while collaborating with the healthcare team
- Strong Medical/Surgical nursing competency is required
