About the Opportunity:
Take your respiratory therapy career to Denver with a 13-week travel assignment designed for experienced RRTs who are confident providing advanced respiratory care in an acute-care environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who enjoys a fast-paced setting, complex cardiopulmonary care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and serving as a clinical resource to fellow respiratory care professionals.
Level III NICU experience is preferred, making this role particularly well suited for RRTs with neonatal, critical-care, and advanced respiratory care experience.
Your Responsibilities:
As an RRT, you will play an important role in delivering safe, high-quality respiratory care across the patient population. Responsibilities may include:
- Perform, interpret, and evaluate respiratory diagnostic testing according to established protocols.
- Obtain and evaluate arterial blood gases.
- Assess cardiopulmonary status and initiate appropriate respiratory interventions.
- Initiate respiratory care protocols based on departmental criteria.
- Administer respiratory medications and evaluate patient response.
- Monitor patients for changes in respiratory and overall clinical condition.
- Troubleshoot and oversee respiratory equipment to support safe patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Provide recommendations related to respiratory and patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding respiratory modalities, self-care techniques, health promotion, and wellness.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and productivity records.
- Monitor respiratory equipment and supplies and communicate equipment or supply needs.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
- Serve as a resource, consultant, and mentor to other respiratory care staff.
- Support professional development, research, and departmental initiatives.
- Complete special clinical projects as assigned by department leadership.
- Float to other departments within your scope of practice and competency when needed.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities during regularly scheduled shifts when required.
What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the NBRC
- Current state Respiratory Therapist license
- Current BLS certification
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program
- Strong acute-care respiratory therapy experience
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to follow respiratory care protocols and departmental standards
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
Preferred Experience:
- Level III NICU experience
- Advanced respiratory care experience
- Neonatal or critical-care respiratory experience
- Patient and family education
- Experience mentoring or serving as a clinical resource
- Experience participating in quality improvement initiatives
