Description
Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Position: Registered Nurse – PCU
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week
Contract: 13 weeks
Start: Any Monday
Experience: 2 years of PCU experience
License: RN License – Compact accepted
Certifications: ACLS-AHA, BLS-AHA
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Patient Ratio: 1:4–1:5
Unit: 24-bed monitored flex unit (Intermediate/General)
Local Rule: 80-mile local radius
Floating: VI required
Scheduling: Self-scheduling
Required Clinical Skills
- Strong cardiac experience
- IV insertion/start
- Arterial and central line management
- Dubhoff/NGT placement and management
- J-tube/PEG/chest tube management
- Pacemaker management
- PCA and epidural management
- Peripheral and arterial lab draws
- Various IV drips, including cardiac, Lasix, insulin, heparin, and antihypertensive drips
- TEE and cardioversion support
- Chest tube placement and thoracentesis support
Patient Population
Primarily post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular patients requiring intermediate-level care and continuous monitoring.
