Shift: 12 Hour Variable Description: 

URGENT ** - MUST BE ABLE TO FLOAT BETWEEN ER, ICU AND MED/SURG? General Informationo 35 bed Acute Care facilityo Beds:? ER 9 treatment spaces 8 beds and 1 hallway space? ICU 4 beds? MedSurg 15 bedso Minimal Experience: 1.5 years; manager will accept acute care MedSurg experience (EDor ICU experience)o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Only with 2+ years of experienceo Travelers must live >100 miles away from facilityo Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler with eligibility to returnand/ or internal reference check? Patient Types:o All ages traveler will be utilized in all care areas to include ED, ICU and Med Surgo Sepsis, DKA, ETOH, ARDS, MI, Trauma, Stroke? Patient Ratios:o ED: 1:3-4o ICU: 1:1-2 (dependent on acuity/age)o Med Surg: 1:5 (dependent on acuity/age)? Required Certifications:o BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALSo NIHSS (preferred)o CPI (preferred)? Required Education:o Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing;Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing? Skills required:o General ED experience, critical care experience for ICU holds, Trauma experience,complex wound care, dressing changes, nursing assessmentso Comfortability to work all care areas to include ED, ICU and Med Surg? Support on the Unit:o Charge nurse: 1 ( hospital coordinator )o Phlebotomy? yeso IV/VAT Team? noo Resource Nurse: same as charge nurseo RT: yeso Hospitalist: yes, with APP coverage at nights? Charting System: EPIC (Required)? Floating: If yes, where?o if trained in all then may be floated to ER, MS, /or ICU? Orientation: (facility and unit)o 2 days?
