🩺 Your Role

As a Med/Surg Ortho RN, you’ll provide safe, comprehensive nursing care while working closely with patients, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and continuously evaluate patient health status.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care.
• Provide direct nursing care, therapy, and treatments that support recovery and overall well-being.
• Monitor patient responses to treatment and modify care as appropriate.
• Provide health education and counseling to patients and families.
• Execute delegated medical functions in accordance with applicable nursing standards.
• Identify when patients require additional evaluation or treatment and facilitate appropriate referrals.
• Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
• Use available clinical resources appropriately to support quality patient care.
• Collaborate with and provide appropriate direction, supervision, or education to members of the care team.
• Promote a patient-centered environment focused on safety, quality, and compassionate care.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

🔄 Flexibility to Float

Based on operational needs, you may be required to float to other departments within your scope of competency and qualifications.

You may also be required to participate in on-call coverage during a regularly scheduled shift, based on departmental needs.

📋 Requirements

Required:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• ASN/Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
• BLS – American Heart Association certification.
• Ability to perform the essential duties of the position safely and effectively.
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, communication, and patient-care skills.

Additional certifications may be required depending on unit/service needs:

• ACLS
• NRP
• PALS

Preferred:

• Previous Registered Nurse experience.
• BSN/Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Specialty certification appropriate to the unit/service.
