🩺 What You’ll Do
As a Med/Surg RN, you’ll provide safe, comprehensive, and patient-centered nursing care while working collaboratively with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and continuously evaluate patient health status.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care.
- Provide direct nursing care, therapy, and treatments that support recovery and overall well-being.
- Monitor patient responses to treatments and evaluate ongoing care plans.
- Provide health education and counseling to patients and families.
- Execute delegated medical functions in accordance with applicable nursing standards.
- Identify when patients require additional evaluation or treatment and facilitate appropriate referrals.
- Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- Utilize available resources appropriately to support safe, high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Promote a positive, patient-centered environment focused on quality and safety.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
🔄 Flexibility May Be Required
Based on operational needs, you may be required to float to other departments within your scope of competency and qualifications.
You may also be required to participate in on-call coverage during a regularly scheduled shift, depending on department needs.
📋 Requirements
Required:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- ASN/Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
- BLS – American Heart Association certification.
- Ability to provide safe and effective nursing care in a Med/Surg environment.
- Strong assessment, clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills.
Additional certifications may be required based on unit/service needs:
- ACLS
- NRP
- PALS
Preferred:
- Previous Registered Nurse experience.
- BSN/Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Specialty certification appropriate to the unit/service.
