• Required Certifications: CDCES (which requires either RDN or RN).

• Years of Experience:

• Float Requirements: Multiple outpatient clinics and occasional
inpatient diabetes education consults

Must Have Skills/Experience: DSMES, insulin education, CGM
education, counseling, care coordination

• Preferred Skillset/Experience: Pump training, gestational
diabetes, pediatric diabetes, ADA-recognized DSMES experience, acute care/inpatient
hospital, rural healthcare

• Common Diagnosis/Treatment: Type 1, Type 2, Prediabetes, GDM,
insulin therapy, CGM initiation, nutrition counseling

• Personality Fit: Self-directed, adaptable, organized,
collaborative, patient-centered


Required Education: BSN or MS in Nutrition as required for RN or RD
