Description
MUST FLOAT TO MED SURG
ROLE ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS: Regulatory/Educational Requirements
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current state Registered Nurse Licensure, within state of Colorado. Compact license accepted and Colorado License must be obtained within first 90 days of hire.
Willingness to care for patients - Newborns (28 days) to end of life
• Current BLS Certification.
• Current PALS certification (excludes FBC).- PALS can be obtain at the facility if candidate needs it
• Current ACLS certification
• Successful completion of EKG course
Patient Ratio-
The patient ratio for ICU is 2:1 for all ICU status patients. If Med Surg status patients are in the unit, the ICU nurse often takes 4:1 if there are no current ICU status patients.
Patient Population-
The patient population varies- but DKA, Cardiac, Sepsis, Surgical, and high risk of decline patients are often admitted to the ICU
