ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS, NIHSS - AHA or APEX, PALS

MUST BE ABLE TO HANDLE VERY HIGH RATIOS 1:9 Unit ED Trauma Level: Level III Trauma Center # Beds/Trauma Bays 30 Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, COVID, NY License Experience or 'Must have' skills: 2 Years ER Experience Minimum preferred Shifts & Scheduling: 12 Hour Shifts Weekend Requirements: Yes Holiday Requirements: Yes Is there call or a standby requirement: No Floating Requirements : No Scrub Color/Dress Code: Dark Blue or White Unit/Department specific orientation Yes Additional Notes: RN's will be given Competency Exams: Travelers depending on assigned unit are expected to take a competency exams - will be required to pass their respective exams with an 80%. 1) Medication Test – Both the Adult & Pediatric medication tests are 20 questions, consisting of multiple choice and fill answer. The exams test basic medication administration. Travelers will be given a formula sheet (attached) during the exam & a calculator. 2) Dysrhythmia test – This is a Basic Dysrhythmia Recognition Exam. The exam consists of 16 rhythm strips, consisting of fill in answers. Each traveler will need to identify the rhythm and know the treatment or intervention.
