Assignment Details

• Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Start: ASAP
• Rate: $90
• Contract: 91 weeks
• Full-time
• Temp-to-perm possibility
• Security on-site 24/7

Unit Overview

• Very high-acuity unit — heavy caseload of strokes, cardiovascular cases, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, and sepsis
• Some trauma seen, but this is not a trauma-designated unit

Role Overview

• Practices independently as a competent nurse in a similar clinical setting, addressing all relevant aspects of a situation
• Provides routine and complex care with focus on long-range goals/plans
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation
• Applies the nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — per ANA Scope and Standards of Practice
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administers medications/treatments per protocol; monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given
• Assesses learning needs and educates patients, families, and caregivers

Requirements

• BSN preferred
• 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
• BLS (AHA) required
• ACLS (AHA) required
• PALS (AHA) required
• TNCC required
• De-Escalation certification required
• RN license in state of employment or compact
• New hires must complete New Nurses Orientation within 30 days, precepted onboarding, organizational entry competency validation, and ED-specific competency validation
