Unit Notes
Due to our volumes we can't keep a CST busy 100% of the time with cardiac or vascular cases. We are looking for techs that can do other specialties when they are not in the CVOR; Ortho, general, ENT, urology etc Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. **Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract **Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.** • Unit CVOR • # of Suites 11 • Average # of cases per day 18 • Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) BLS • Common Cases: CABG, Vascular, Lungs • Experience or 'Must have' skills: Handing open heart procedures, working in a general OR • Is scrubbing required for RNs?No • Is there a manager/Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? A Manager and Charge daily, no room assignment • OR techs? Yes • EMR Epic • Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) 8s or 10s beginning at 0700 M-F, same schedule week to week. Call is somewhat self-scheduled • Weeknight/Call Requirements: Yes, 10-15 total days per month on call, combination of nights and weekends • Weekend/Call Requirements: Yes • Holiday/Call Requirements Yes as needed • What is call response time? 15 minutes • Floating Requirements: No- will work general OR when not doing CV cases • Scrub Color/Dress Code: Scrubs provided • How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? One week • Additional Notes: Will work on CVOR team embedded in the general OR. When not doing cardiovascular cases will do general, ortho, urology and ENT cases
