Travel RN – Med Surg / ICU

VNDLY Baptist Health

• Location: Montgomery, AL
• Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Hours: 36/48 hrs/week
• Contract: 13 weeks

• First-time travelers: Accepted
• Facility: 492 beds | Level II Trauma | Level III NICU | Primary Stroke Center
• EMR: Cerner preferred; required if strictly ICU experience

Must Have

• 18+ months Med Surg and/or ICU experience
• 1+ year trauma/surgical experience
• BLS + NIHSS
• Telemetry experience — must confirm with candidate
  • RN must interpret and confirm telemetry strips every 4 hours.
• Strong IV, wound care, chest tube, NGT/PEG, medication administration and documentation skills
• Comfortable floating between similar units as needed

Units

• 6 North Trauma Surgical – 23 beds
• 5 South Neuroscience – 33 beds
• 5 North Med Surg/Oncology – 39 beds
• 4 South Clinical Decision Unit – 18 beds
• 3 South Orthopedics – 20 beds
• 3 North MS/Ortho/Urology – 23 beds

Ratio: Generally 1:5–6

Other: No call | Every other weekend or 4 weekend days/month | 1 major + 1 minor holiday | 24 hrs classroom + 24 hrs unit orientation for new/return travelers gone 1+ year.

Important: Staff must be away for 6 months before returning as a traveler.
