Location: Akron, Ohio
Assignment Type: Long-Term Contract
Assignment Dates: October 18, 2026 – January 16, 2027

Position Overview
We are seeking two experienced PCU/Telemetry Registered Nurses for a long-term contract assignment on a 32-bed Cardiac Progressive Care/Telemetry unit specializing in the care of patients with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) and other complex cardiac conditions.
The ideal candidate will be a strong, clinically skilled RN with recent PCU/Telemetry experience and demonstrated proficiency in cardiac monitoring, rhythm interpretation, IV therapy, phlebotomy, heparin drips, and blood product administration.
Unit Details
- 32-bed Cardiac Progressive Care/Telemetry Unit
- Specialized focus on CHF and cardiac patient care
- Night Shift Patient Ratio: 1:5
- RNs must be comfortable managing medically complex cardiac patients in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the PCU/Telemetry setting.
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and identify changes requiring intervention.
- Interpret EKGs and cardiac rhythm changes accurately.
- Administer and monitor heparin drips and other IV therapies.
- Safely administer and monitor patients receiving blood products.
- Perform phlebotomy/blood draws as required.
- Start, maintain, and troubleshoot peripheral IV access.
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and promptly report changes in condition.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established policies and standards.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Float to other units as needed and within scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license eligible to practice in Ohio.
- Minimum 2+ years of recent PCU/Telemetry experience.
- BLS Certification – Required
- ACLS Certification – Required
- Recent Epic experience within the last 12 months – Required
- Recent Phlebotomy experience within the last 12 months – Required
- Strong proficiency in:
- Cardiac monitoring
- EKG interpretation
- Recognition of rhythm changes
- Heparin drip management
- Blood product administration
- Blood draws/phlebotomy
- IV initiation and maintenance
- Must be willing to float as required.
- Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program.
Assignment Requirements
- Interview is required.
- Please provide the candidate's available dates and times for an interview at the time of submission.
- RTO must be submitted at the time of submission.
- Maximum of 7 days of RTO allowed for the entire assignment.
- Candidates with more than 7 days of RTO may not be considered.
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment.
- Block scheduling requests will not be accepted.
- Solid black scrubs are required.
- Resume must clearly demonstrate Epic and Phlebotomy experience within the past 12 months.
Compliance Requirements
Selected candidates must complete all required credentialing, competency testing, background screening, license verification, health screening, and immunization requirements before starting the assignment.
