MS/TELE RN – Interview Required
Location: Akron Campus
Unit: 30-Bed MS/Telemetry Acuity-Adaptable Unit
Ratios: 1:5–6
Float: Required
Interview: Required
Scrubs: Solid Black
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 30-bed acuity-adaptable MS/Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will have strong recent MS/Telemetry experience and be comfortable caring for patients with varying levels of acuity in a fast-paced environment.
MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of recent MS/Telemetry RN experience
- ACLS and BLS required
- Epic experience within the last 12 months
- Must be clearly listed on the resume
- Phlebotomy experience within the last 12 months
- Must be willing to float
- Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program
- Solid black scrubs required
- Ability to work with approximately 1:5–6 patient ratios
- Interview required
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to MS/Telemetry patients with varying acuity levels.
- Monitor and assess patients requiring telemetry.
- Administer medications and treatments and monitor patient responses.
- Perform phlebotomy/blood draws as required.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
- Adapt to changing patient assignments and acuity levels.
- Float to other units as required.
Charge Nurse Experience:
Charge Nurse experience is highly preferred but NOT required.
Candidates without previous Charge Nurse experience must be willing to receive Charge Nurse training.
Charge Nurse responsibilities may include:
- Taking and coordinating patient assignments
- Performing Pyxis checks
- Checking crash carts
- Assigning admissions
- Serving as a liaison to the supervisor
- Assigning staff breaks and meals
- Creating assignments based on patient care needs for the next shift
RTO & Scheduling Requirements:
- RTO must be provided at the time of submission
- Maximum 7 days of RTO accepted
- Candidates requesting more than 7 days will be automatically rejected
- No RTO during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Block schedules may be accommodated on a case-by-case basis
- Please clearly state in the submission comments if the candidate is interested in a block schedule
Recent Epic and phlebotomy experience within the last 12 months MUST be clearly documented on the resume. Candidates must also demonstrate 2+ years of recent MS/Telemetry experience..
