Pediatric Med-Surg RN – Aurora, Colorado

Facility: Children’s Hospital Colorado – Anschutz Medical Campus
Specialty: Pediatric Medical-Surgical, Behavioral Health and Neonatology
Shift: 12-hour days, 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
Schedule: Every other weekend
Call: None
Floating: Required

Assignment Options

• December 1, 2026–March 6, 2027
• December 15, 2026–March 20, 2027

Required Qualifications

• BSN
• BLS
• PALS
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience
• Inpatient pediatric academic medical-center experience strongly preferred
• High-flow nasal cannula experience
• Chest-tube management experience
• Previous travel experience—first-time travelers are not accepted

Preferred Experience

• Heated high-flow nasal cannula management
• Care of pediatric patients with bronchiolitis
• Pediatric behavioral-health experience
• Neonatology experience

Patient Population

• Gastrointestinal disorders
• Endocrine disorders
• Bariatric and nutritional-restoration patients
• Infections, including sepsis
• Limited postoperative and post-procedure care
• Chest-tube patients
• Long-term behavioral-health patients
• Average length of stay: approximately four days

Floating Requirements

Travelers may float to:

• Pediatric acute-care units
• NICU
• Children’s Hospital Colorado North and South campuses
• Other Denver-area locations within approximately 35 miles

Floating or reassignment will remain within the RN’s demonstrated clinical competency and may be used to fulfill guaranteed hours.

Holiday and RTO Requirements

• Must be available to work two of the three designated holidays
• RTO blackout dates:
  • November 25–27
  • December 23–26
  • December 30–January 2
• Maximum of four total RTO days
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment

Medical and religious exemptions to the seasonal influenza vaccine may be considered.
