Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced ICU or High-Level PCU Registered Nurse to support a newly opened PCU designed as a universal care suite. Each room can function as a MS/Telemetry, PCU, or Critical Care bed depending on the patient’s condition and care requirements.

The RN will care for MS/Tele, PCU, and critical-care patients and may float between these areas when census is low.

Patient Population & Clinical Focus

Patients may include:

• A-fib with RVR
• TAVR and post-cardiac procedures
• Post-PCI and post-MI patients
• DKA
• COPD/Asthma exacerbations
• Stable ventilated patients
• High FiO2/HFNC and heart-failure patients
• Renal failure

Strong experience with critical care, telemetry, cardiac monitoring, vasoactive/cardiac drips, ventilated patients, and complex neurological care is highly valuable.

Key Clinical Skills

• Central/PICC lines, arterial lines, IV therapy, and blood products
• Ventilator and respiratory support, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and tracheostomy care
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Titration of cardiac, vasoactive, and insulin drips
• Neurological patients including CVA, aneurysm repair, craniotomy, EVD, intracranial bleeds, lumbar drains, and post-TPA care
• Cardiac procedures including TAVR, PCI, cardiac angiograms, sheath removal, and TR bands
• Renal failure and pre/post-hemodialysis care

Requirements

• 2+ years of ICU/PCU experience – Required
• Prior travel experience – Required
• Cerner experience – Required
• BLS and ACLS – Required
• Candidates must be willing to obtain TNCC/TCAR within 30 days of starting if not already certified.
• Trauma Level II experience – Preferred
• Teaching hospital experience – Preferred

Additional Information

• When census is low, travelers may float to Critical Care (1:2–3) or Med-Surg/Telemetry (1:5–6).
