Paramedic II
Contract Details
- Contract Length: 12 weeks
- Location: 100 Golden Drive, Durham, NC
- Transportation: Ground transportation only; no air travel
- Driving Experience: Recent experience working in the back of and/or driving a truck is required
Required Certifications
- Current North Carolina Paramedic certification, or ability to obtain North Carolina certification
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- NRP
- Current Class C Driver’s License from North Carolina or another state
Preferred Certifications
- PHTLS
- BTLS
- ITLS
Education
- High School Diploma: Required
- Associate Degree: Preferred
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of ALS Paramedic experience required
- 2–3 years of prehospital experience preferred
- Experience with a moderate-to-high call volume preferred, particularly with a 911 agency handling more than 15,000 calls per year
Job Summary
The Paramedic II functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, providing direct patient care across various practice settings and patient populations.
The Paramedic II performs a variety of clinical activities within the scope of paramedic practice as defined by the North Carolina Medical Board, with oversight and approval from the Medical Director of the applicable practice setting.
