IR Neuro Rad Tech – Job Description

Position: Interventional Radiology Neuro Radiologic Technologist
Location: Rochester, NY
Contract: 16–26 Weeks
Department: Interventional Radiology / Neuro-Interventional

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IR Neuro Radiologic Technologist to support physicians and the interventional team during diagnostic and minimally invasive neurovascular procedures. The technologist will operate specialized imaging equipment, maintain a sterile environment, and ensure high-quality imaging while prioritizing patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

Operate fluoroscopy and angiography equipment during neuro-interventional procedures.
Assist with procedures such as cerebral angiography, stroke thrombectomy, aneurysm coiling, and neurovascular stent placement.
Prepare and position patients for procedures.
Prepare imaging equipment, procedure rooms, contrast, and necessary supplies.
Maintain sterile technique throughout procedures.
Produce high-quality diagnostic images while following radiation-safety protocols.
Assist physicians with equipment and imaging needs during procedures.
Monitor radiation exposure and follow ALARA principles.

Requirements ARRT-registered Radiologic Technologist (RT(R)) or equivalent qualification. Active New York State radiologic technology license/registration as required. Previous Interventional Radiology (IR) experience. Neuro-interventional experience preferred. Experience with fluoroscopy and angiography equipment. Strong understanding of sterile technique and radiation safety. BLS certification; ACLS may be required depending on facility requirements. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment.
