Travel RN – Emergency Department

Baptist Health | Montgomery, AL
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM–7:00 AM | 36/48 hrs
Contract: 13 weeks
Interview: SimpliFi Interview
 

Facility

  • 522 beds | Level I Trauma Center
  • Level III NICU
  • Primary Stroke Center
  • Non-teaching facility
  • Unit: 71 beds
  • EMR: Cerner

Experience Requirements

  • First-time travelers: 2+ years' experience with Cerner or Epic + Level I/II Trauma experience
  • May consider 3+ years Level III Trauma experience at a 300+ bed facility
  • Experienced travelers: 2+ years critical care experience (ICU/ER), with most recent year in a Level I or II ER
  • Cerner/Epic experience preferred

Patient Population

  • Multi-system trauma
  • STEMI, stroke, CHF, COPD
  • GI/GU
  • OB/GYN
  • Pediatrics
  • Psychiatric patients
  • High volume of transfers from other facilities

Required Certifications

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • NIHSS
  • TNCC
  • CPI/Secure – nationally recognized/JCAHO accepted

Required Skills

  • Trach & ventilator care
  • ICU drips
  • Chest tubes
  • Arterial lines
  • CVL, PICC, midline & port care
  • Foley care
  • Splint/orthopedic device application & care
  • BiPAP/High Flow
  • Continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)

Staffing & Support

  • ER ratio: 1:4
  • MS Holds: 1:5
  • ICU Holds: 1:3
  • CNA: 1:12
  • Charge Nurse, HUC/Receptionist, Hospitalist
  • IV/VAT Team
  • Phlebotomy available until 3:00 AM

Schedule

  • Shift options: 7a–7p, 7p–7a, 11a–11p, 3p–3a
  • Every other weekend OR 4 weekend days/month on block schedule
  • 4-week schedule cycle

Must Have: 2+ years relevant ER/critical care experience, recent Level I/II trauma ER experience, Cerner/Epic, and all 6 required certifications.
