Inpatient Registered Nurse – Day Shift

Shift: 12-hour days
Weekends: Every other weekend
Floating: Required as needed
Setting: Inpatient
Patient Population: Primarily adults

Position Overview

The RN is responsible for providing safe, efficient and patient-centered nursing care to an assigned group of adult inpatients. The nurse will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and float to other appropriate units based on staffing needs and clinical competency.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care
• Administer medications and prescribed treatments
• Monitor patients and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Evaluate interventions and revise care plans as needed
• Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients, families and caregivers
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
• Follow hospital policies and professional nursing standards
• Float to other units within the RN’s demonstrated clinical competency
