<h2>Med-Surg/Telemetry RN – Day Shift</h2><p><strong>Shift:</strong> 12-hour days<br /><strong>Weekends:</strong> Every other weekend<br /><strong>Floating:</strong> Required as needed<br /><strong>Setting:</strong> Adult inpatient Med-Surg/Telemetry</p><h3>Unit Details</h3><p>This is an adult Med-Surg/Telemetry floor. Despite the unit’s current name, it does <strong>not</strong> provide pediatric care. Most orthopedic patients are now cared for on a separate dedicated floor.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Assess and monitor adult Med-Surg/Telemetry patients</li><li>Interpret telemetry and recognize changes in cardiac rhythms</li><li>Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans</li><li>Administer medications and prescribed treatments</li><li>Evaluate patient response and adjust interventions as needed</li><li>Identify and respond promptly to changes in clinical condition</li><li>Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team</li><li>Educate patients, families and caregivers</li><li>Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation</li><li>Float to appropriate units based on staffing needs and clinical competency</li></ul>
