Position Summary:

Pikeville Medical Center is seeking an experienced Special Procedure Technician with Cath Lab experience to support cardiac and vascular procedures in a fast-paced procedural environment. The technician will assist the Cath Lab team with procedure preparation, sterile instrumentation, equipment setup, patient positioning, supply management, and maintaining a safe and efficient procedural environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare the Cath Lab procedure room and ensure required equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and ready for procedures.
• Assist with the preparation and organization of sterile supplies, procedural trays, and specialty equipment.
• Support the physician and Cath Lab team during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Maintain strict sterile technique and infection-control practices throughout procedures.
• Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and safe transfer according to procedure requirements.
• Ensure appropriate procedural supplies and equipment are readily available during cases.
• Handle and maintain surgical/procedural instruments and equipment according to facility protocols.
• Assist with room turnover, cleaning, restocking, and preparation for subsequent procedures.
• Monitor inventory and communicate supply or equipment needs to the appropriate team members.
• Follow established safety procedures and departmental policies.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to procedures and equipment as required.
• Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, technologists, and other members of the Cath Lab team.
• Respond efficiently to changing procedural needs while maintaining patient safety and procedural readiness.

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous Cath Lab / Special Procedures experience
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and procedural workflow
• Experience preparing procedural rooms, instruments, equipment, and supplies
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced cardiac procedural environment
• Strong attention to detail and patient-safety awareness
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Minimum 1 year of travel experience

Pay & Facility Terms:

• Overtime: 1.5× for travel staff working over 48 hours/week
• Call Back: 1.5×
• On-Call Rate: $2.05/hour
• Holiday: 1.5×
• Orientation: Billable
• Payroll: Bi-Weekly

Holiday Rate:

The 1.5× holiday rate applies from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM on:

• New Year's Day
• Memorial Day
• July 4th
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Christmas Day
