POSITION OVERVIEW:

Pikeville Medical Center is seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to provide comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing therapy in an Outpatient Rehabilitation setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with both pediatric and adult populations and be comfortable developing individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and functional goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluate patients with speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient goals.
• Provide therapeutic interventions to improve speech, language, communication, cognition, and swallowing function.
• Provide age-appropriate care to pediatric and adult patients in an outpatient rehabilitation environment.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
• Complete comprehensive evaluations and maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment strategies, home programs, and ongoing care needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain patient safety and follow facility policies, infection-control standards, and applicable professional requirements.
• Participate in discharge planning and provide appropriate recommendations for continued therapy or follow-up care.
• Manage a scheduled outpatient caseload while maintaining quality and patient-centered care.

ACUTE CARE / IPR COVERAGE:

The Rehab team may provide coverage in Acute Care and Inpatient Rehabilitation (IPR), including:

• Weekend and holiday coverage
• Approximately 1 weekend every 4 weeks

Candidates with prior Acute Care/IPR experience are preferred for assignments requiring this coverage. Candidates without Acute Care/IPR experience would primarily be considered for the Outpatient Rehab setting rather than being assigned to cover those areas.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Previous Outpatient Speech-Language Pathology experience
• Preferably experienced with both pediatric and adult patients
• Strong assessment, treatment planning, documentation, and communication skills
• Comfortable managing an outpatient therapy caseload
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team
• Experience with Acute Care and/or IPR is preferred for candidates expected to participate in cross-coverage

PAY & FACILITY TERMS

• Overtime: 1.5× for travel staff working over 48 hours/week
• Call Back: 1.5×
• On-Call Rate: $2.05/hour
• Holiday: 1.5×
• Orientation: Billable
• Payroll: Bi-Weekly

HOLIDAY RATE:

The 1.5× holiday rate applies from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM on:

• New Year's Day
• Memorial Day
• July 4th
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Christmas Day

Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (Day Shift).
