Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health (Adult Psych RN)

Shift Matrix: Night Shift | 19:00 – 07:30 (3x12-Hour Shifts)

Weekend & Holiday Expectations: Every Other Weekend (EOW) and Every Other Holiday (EOH) coverage required.
On-Call Requirement: No call.
Floating Policy: Must be willing to float onsite within skill set or to affiliate sister sites within a 40-mile radius if operationally required.
Guaranteed Hours: 48 Hours Per Week

🚫 Absolute Minimum Qualifications & Departmental Hardstops:

Licensure Mandate: Active, unencumbered Wisconsin State RN License or active eNLC Compact RN License held at time of submission.
Experience Baseline: Minimum 1+ year of dedicated inpatient adult behavioral health / psychiatric nursing experience.
Core Certification Required: Active AHA BLS certification.
EMR Proficiency: Demonstrated experience charting in EPIC.
Float Radius Mandate: Candidate must explicitly agree to float to regional sites within 40 miles if needed.

Job Summary & Clinical Scope

A Hospital in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a compassionate, acute-care proficient Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN Behavioral Health) for a 13-week night assignment in the Behavioral-Adult Unit 001 (Cost Center: 20030). Requisitioned due to an increase in patient census, the RN will manage acute psychiatric stabilization, safety interventions, and psychopharmacologic care for adult inpatient psychiatric patients.

Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Care: Conduct continuous mental status examinations, risk assessments (suicide, self-harm, flight risk, and violence), and therapeutic de-escalation for adult behavioral health patients.
Medication Administration & Monitoring: Administer psychotropic medications, monitor for therapeutic effectiveness and adverse extrapyramidal side effects, and manage acute medical/psychiatric decompensation.
Milieu & Safety Management: Maintain a secure, therapeutic milieu; oversee environmental safety checks, search/contraband protocols, and restraint/seclusion protocols when clinically indicated.
EPIC Documentation: Complete real-time clinical assessments, nursing care plans, and incident documentation within EPIC.
