JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Job Type: Travel/Contract
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Assignment Length: 26 Weeks
Shift: Day – 5x8s (8:00 AM–4:30 PM) or 4x10s (7:00 AM–5:30 PM)
Experience: Minimum 2 Years
Pay Rate: $62/hour
Weekly Pay: $2,480/week

Responsibilities

Complete psychosocial assessments and develop appropriate discharge plans.
Provide psychosocial and emotional support to patients and families.
Assist patients with resource navigation and coordination of care.
Provide brief clinical interventions as appropriate.
Screen for suicidality and participate in safety planning when appropriate.
Complete required reports of harm in accordance with state regulations.
Coordinate with outside agencies and community resources.
Collaborate with RN Case Managers and other healthcare professionals.
Support safe and ethical discharge planning.

Requirements

LMSW Certificate required.
Alaska LMSW license required.
Candidates without an active AK license may apply for a temporary LMSW license.
Minimum 2 years of experience.
Acute care hospital experience is required.
Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited school of social work.
First-time travelers are not accepted.
Must be willing to work every other weekend.
Local candidates are not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
Pending license candidates are accepted.
