Labor & Delivery RN – Travel Contract

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience
• BLS and NRP required
• Active RN license required at submission
• Strong L&D experience in an acute-care setting
• Experience with LDRP, postpartum, antepartum, and GYN patients
• Experience caring for high-risk pregnancies, including hypertension and diabetes
• Experience titrating Pitocin, Magnesium, and Procardia

Unit Details

• Approximately 400 births/year
• 15 LDRP beds + 15 postpartum beds
• AWHONN staffing ratios
• Typical ratio: 1:3
• Laboring patients: 1:1
• Charge nurse available each shift
• No Tele/Monitor Techs

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend
• Holidays as needed
• No call or standby
• Floating is rare and only during critical staffing needs, within appropriate skills

Orientation

• 1 week classroom orientation
• 2–3 floor orientation shifts
• Pass/fail exam during orientation
• 90% minimum passing score

Important Facility Requirements

• 50-mile radius rule
• Driver’s license required at submission for radius verification
• Candidates cannot currently be FT/PT/PRN with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health
• RTO must be submitted upfront
• Maximum 7 days RTO for a 13-week contract
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts during the assignment
• Artificial nails are not permitted in patient-care areas
