Standard Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Weekend/Holiday Coverage: May vary based on department needs
 

Patient Volume:

• 16–18 patients scheduled per 8-hour day
• 20–22 patients scheduled per 10-hour day

Position Overview:

Wilma P. Mankiller Health Center is seeking a Locum Physician Assistant (PA) to provide primary care services. The provider will evaluate and manage patients across a broad range of primary care needs while collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure safe, timely, and comprehensive patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, medical histories, and physical examinations.
• Diagnose and manage common acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Order and interpret appropriate laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and other clinical evaluations.
• Prescribe medications and provide appropriate follow-up care within scope of practice.
• Provide preventive care, health education, and counseling.
• Manage chronic conditions and monitor treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
• Coordinate care with with physicians, nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide continuity of care and appropriate referrals when needed.
• Follow facility, clinical, and regulatory standards for patient safety and quality care.

• Support weekend and holiday coverage as required by department needs.

   

  Candidate Requirements:

• Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant (PA) license.
• Appropriate national certification/credentials for practice.
• Primary Care experience required.
• Ability to manage a high-volume outpatient primary care schedule.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.

• Must be available to work varying schedules based on departmental needs.

   

  Schedule & Patient Volume:

• 8-hour day: 16–18 scheduled patients
  10-hour day: 20–22 scheduled patients
• Note: Regular clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Weekend, holiday, and specific workday assignments may vary depending on departmental needs.
