Locum Physician Assistant (PA) – Primary Care:
Facility: Wilma P. Mankiller Health Center
Location: Stilwell, OK 74960
Position: Locum Advanced Practice Provider – Primary Care
Specialty: Primary Care
Level: Level 1 AP – Primary Care
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Schedule: 8- or 10-hour shifts
Shift Pattern: 12x3
Standard Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Weekend/Holiday Coverage: May vary based on department needs
Patient Volume:
- 16–18 patients scheduled per 8-hour day
- 20–22 patients scheduled per 10-hour day
Position Overview:
Wilma P. Mankiller Health Center is seeking a Locum Physician Assistant (PA) to provide primary care services. The provider will evaluate and manage patients across a broad range of primary care needs while collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure safe, timely, and comprehensive patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, medical histories, and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and manage common acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Order and interpret appropriate laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and other clinical evaluations.
- Prescribe medications and provide appropriate follow-up care within scope of practice.
- Provide preventive care, health education, and counseling.
- Manage chronic conditions and monitor treatment effectiveness.
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
- Coordinate care with with physicians, nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide continuity of care and appropriate referrals when needed.
- Follow facility, clinical, and regulatory standards for patient safety and quality care.
Support weekend and holiday coverage as required by department needs.
Candidate Requirements:
- Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant (PA) license.
- Appropriate national certification/credentials for practice.
- Primary Care experience required.
- Ability to manage a high-volume outpatient primary care schedule.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
Must be available to work varying schedules based on departmental needs.
Schedule & Patient Volume:
- 8-hour day: 16–18 scheduled patients
10-hour day: 20–22 scheduled patients - Note: Regular clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Weekend, holiday, and specific workday assignments may vary depending on departmental needs.
