Description
Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) Team Lead – Nights
Location: Columbus, OH 43210
Shift: Nights | Mon–Fri | 11:00 PM–7:30 AM
Experience: 4+ years
Certification: HSPA (IAHCSMM) or CBSPD – Required
Travel Experience: Not required
Position Highlights
- Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center
- Previous Lead/Charge experience required
- Experience with Censitrac, Da Vinci, surgical drills, and scopes required
- Strong experience with decontamination, sterilization, tray assembly, HLD, and instrument processing
- Experience with multiple surgical specialties, especially Trauma, Ortho/Total Joints, Neuro, Robotics, Urology, and Vascular
- Floating between OSU locations may be required
- Call and occasional holidays required

- Surgical drills
- Flexible endoscope/scopes
- Scope and probe reprocessing
- Steam sterilization
- Steris testing/monitoring
- Sterrad testing/monitoring
- Biological and chemical indicators
- Immediate-Use Steam Sterilization (IUSS)
- High-Level Disinfection (HLD)
- Sets and trays assembly
- Sterilization wrapping procedures
- Case carts
- Preference cards
- Proper labeling and selection of wrapping materials
Surgical Specialty Experience
Experience processing instrumentation for multiple specialties is highly valued, including:
- Orthopedics / Total Joints

- Neurology / Neuro-Cranial

- OB/GYN
- Ophthalmology

Endoscope Experience
Experience with flexible endoscope reprocessing, including:
- Bronchoscopes
- Colonoscopes
- Cystoscopes
- EGD scopes
- EBUS scopes
- EUS scopes
- Enteroscopes
- Fiber optics
- Flex sigmoidoscopes
- TEE probes
- Uteroscopes
Eligibility
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility.
- Previous permanent OSU staff and travelers who have previously worked at any OSU location are not eligible.
