NICU RN – Position Details

Experience & Requirements

• Minimum Experience: 3 years
• Floating: Traveler must be willing to float to different campuses when needed
• NICU Level: Level III or Level IV
• Gestational Age: Cares for infants as early as 23–24 weeks gestation
• ECMO: Not required

Clinical Skills & Experience

• CPAP / BiPAP
• High-Frequency Ventilators
• Oscillators
• Mechanical Ventilators
• Blood & Blood Product Administration
• Cardioversion / Defibrillation
• Cooling / Warming Blankets
• Feeding Tubes
• PICC / Central Lines
• Syringe Pumps

Responsibilities

• Attend high-risk deliveries
• Care for neonates undergoing neonatal surgeries
• Provide care for critically ill and premature newborns

Floating Information

• Floating is rare due to the high need for RNs within the NICU.
• If floating is required, travelers may be assigned to:
  • Issaquah SCN
  • Edmonds SCN
  • Pediatrics / NBN
• When assigned to NBN, care is for newborns only.

NICU Information

• NICU Capacity: 77 beds
• Average Census: Approximately 50 patients

Scheduling

• Block Scheduling: Available upon request
• Travelers can work 3 or more consecutive shifts if preferred.
