Position: Registered Nurse – Psychiatric
Contract: Initial 13-week contract

Openings

• RNs – Psych Days: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
• RNs – Psych Evenings: 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
• Schedule: 5 × 8-hour shifts/week

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience required
• BLS from AHA required at submission
• Must be comfortable working in a psychiatric facility and managing the patient milieu.
• Orientation is conducted on 1st shift for 4 weeks.

Key RN Responsibilities

• Physical, psychiatric, and admission assessments
• Medication administration
• Processing physician orders
• Vital signs and blood glucose monitoring
• Treatments and pain assessments
• Dressing changes
• Venipuncture
• Patient/milieu management
• EHR documentation and clinical information review
• Verbal and written communication of patient findings
• Responding appropriately to patient safety emergencies

Important Note

The posting specifically states that 11:00 PM–7:00 AM nurses may work as the only nurse on the unit without a supervisor, so candidates must be comfortable with that level of independent responsibility.
