Medical Laboratory Technologist – Microbiology / Hematology
 

Position Details:

• Department: Core Lab
• Location: 34 Maple Street, Norwalk, CT 06856
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks
• Start Date: 10/12/2026
• End Date: 01/09/2027
• Shift:Days
• Shift Time: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Shift Length: 8 Hours
• Meal Break: 30 Minutes Unpaid
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours/Week
• On-Call: No 

Required Qualifications:

• MLS (ASCP) Certification
• Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience
• Strong experience in Hematology and Microbiology 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cerner Millennium LIS experience preferred 

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory testing on patient specimens
• Analyze and interpret laboratory results
• Enter test data and prepare accurate patient laboratory reports
• Communicate and document critical and significant results according to laboratory policy
• Perform testing and support workflow across Hematology and Microbiology
• Maintain biomedical and laboratory equipment according to established procedures
• Complete required daily, weekly, and monthly equipment maintenance
• Perform and document Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) activities
• Troubleshoot testing or equipment issues as appropriate
• Maintain accurate reagent inventory
• Properly label and store reagents
• Document reagent received date, open date, and expiration date
• Follow laboratory policies, safety procedures, and quality standards
