We are seeking an experienced Telemetry RN to provide care for adolescent through geriatric patients in a 36-bed Telemetry unit. The RN must be comfortable with cardiac monitoring, rhythm interpretation, emergency response, cardiac patients, and higher-acuity respiratory needs. The RN must also be willing to float to Med-Surg and other Telemetry units as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Telemetry RN experience
• Epic experience required
• Ventilator experience required
• Must be able to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
• Must be comfortable floating to Med-Surg and other Telemetry units
• First-time travelers accepted
• No background or license hits accepted
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH certification required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe and comprehensive nursing care in a Telemetry setting.
• Continuously monitor patients and identify changes in cardiac rhythms.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias appropriately.
• Monitor patients through both bedside and remote telemetry systems.
• Respond to Rapid Response Team situations and other clinical emergencies.
• Care for patients following MI, cardiac angiograms, cardiac catheterization, and cardiac surgery.
• Manage patients requiring cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration.
• Follow heparin protocols and monitor patients receiving anticoagulation therapy.
• Administer blood products and manage IV therapy.
• Provide central line and PICC line care.
• Start and maintain peripheral IV access.
• Care for chronic or long-term ventilated patients.
• Manage patients with tracheostomies, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, and HFNC.
• Provide appropriate oxygen and non-invasive airway management.
• Float to Med-Surg and other Telemetry units according to department needs.
• Accurately document patient care and assessments in Epic.
