Med/Surg RN – Job Requirements

• Specialty: Med/Surg RN
• Shift: 12-hour Days, 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
• Experience: Strong/recent Med/Surg experience required
• EMR: EPIC experience required
• Certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS required
• ACLS/PALS: Recommended, not required
• Patient Ratio: Up to 1:5
• Patient Population: Adult and pediatric Med/Surg; CHF, pneumonia, pancreatitis, abdominal pain, orthopedic, detox, post-op/surgical patients, etc.
• Drips: No titratable cardiac or insulin drips
• Weekend: Every other weekend required
• Holiday: Rotates with regular staff
• Floating: Required — may float to assist other units as a tasker/extra set of hands
• Call: None
• Scheduling: Manager creates schedule; block scheduling may be considered
• Respiratory: CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow; RT assists/manages
• Scrubs: Any color except camo or orange
• Orientation: 3–5 days on the unit plus required training
• License: License required to submit
• BSN: Not required
• Contract: 13 weeks
